Pediatric Cancer Foundation School/Club Mitzvah Project Information
Mission Statement:
The objective of a PCF School Club or Mitzvah
Project is to raise awareness about pediatric cancer
within the community through special programs and/
or fundraising efforts. The money raised from these
events goes to Pediatric Cancer Foundation to
assist in its mission to eradicate childhood cancer.
Guidelines For School Club:
-Secure permission from school and determine
Administrator/Teacher Advisor to act as liaison from
school for PCF Club.
-Recruit team of students with clear set mandatory
participation requirements.
-Determine club officers: Pres., Vice Pres., Treasurer,
Secretary.
- Implement schedule of monthly meetings or more
depending on events ongoing.
-Hold brainstorming meetings to discuss budget,
fundraising ideas, how to expand community
participation, how to publicize events.
-Determine club member participation and
chairpersons before, during and after events according
to each specific event with committees (publicity, set
up, registration, break down, food, etc).
- Appoint a volunteer to act as liaison to PCF. This
person would seek guidance as needed as well as
express student perspective.
-Hold informational PCF club meetings to recruit new
members and encourage school involvement.
-Determine clear goals for each event/activity with
check list.
-Develop a master PCF guidebook with detailed
information on each event and how it was run, how
much money raised, etc. Include all paperwork,
flyers, list of contacts, dates, timing.

Potential Fundraising and Community Service Activities for School Clubs and Mitzvah Projects
PCF BIKEATHON (established event)
-Publicize with flyers around school. Distribute in
middle schools and elementary schools. Recruit
riders, teams and get sponsorships.
-Recruit team(s) from high school
- Man registration booth. Set up at high school to get
participants and donations.
-Volunteer services day of event
CAR WASH
-Pick date
-Communicate with school officials to plan event
-Purchase supplies
-Create sign-up sheet
-Promote in local paper and stores and on local
websites
BAKE SALE OR CHOCOLATE BAR SALE
-Sell goods at school cafeterias, sports events, and around community
TOY DRIVE
-Organize to collect new toys, books and DVDs to be
given to hospitals (no stuffed animals)
-Plan around various holidays, not just in December
DONATE BIRTHDAY GIFTS AND BAR/BAT MITZVAH MONEY TO PCF
