to Support Children with Cancer
Benefit for Pediatric Cancer Foundation in honor of "Make A Difference Day"
"Make A Difference Day" is the most encompassing national day of helping others, a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, "Make A Difference Day" is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Saturday of every October.
This year, a Marine Park community, inspired by 4 children from their neighborhood who have either had cancer or are presently fighting cancer, came together to celebrate life and to Make A Difference. They organized an ice skating benefit to be held at the Aviator Sports and Recreation Center, Floyd Bennett Field, Hangar 5, Saturday, October 27, 2007.
The event was sold out to a crowd of 350.
All proceeds from this benefit will be donated to Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Stefanie Mittman, President of Pediatric Cancer Foundation, applauds this community for coming together to producing this heartfelt and needed fundraiser. Thank you for helping us to "hold the hand of a child".
