ARDSLEY - You might not have any room left in your stomach after Thanksgiving, but a restaurant is hoping local residents can squeeze just a little more in for charity.
Jimmy's Great American Pancakes in Ardsley plans to donate a portion of its sales tomorrow to the Scarsdale-based Pediatric Cancer Foundation, said owner Jimmy Fink.
Patrons who say they are from Scarsdale or mention the promotion will have 20 percent of their bills, including tax, donated to the charity, which raises money for cancer research and treatment.
Fink, who was approached with the idea by students from the Pediatric Cancer Club at Scarsdale High School, said this is an easy way for people to help those in need.
"I think Americans are quite generous," said Fink, a disc jockey at 107.1 FM in White Plains. "I think that the holiday season brings that out even more."
"It's a great way to show support for a great cause," said Daniel Rosen, 16, president of the cancer club at Scarsdale High and a survivor of Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Nancy Joselson, executive director of the charity, said sponsored events help educate members of the public about issues they don't think about every day.
"Not only are they raising money for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, they're raising awareness," she said.
