Toy Drive for Pediatric Cancer Foundation
...hold the hand of a child with a toy

January 7, 2012

After the loss of my younger brother in 2004 to cancer I felt compelled to help in some way others who were facing such a difficult illness. It left me with an understanding of how important it is to have people that care and understand surround you when you're faced with something of this size.

I spent countless days in the hospital and hospice with my brother and I was especially moved when I saw children battling this disease. I saw the same look on their parents' faces that I saw in my mirror every day. I needed to do something to keep reminding people that this does exist and these kids and their parents need moments of normalcy and happiness in order to face tomorrow.

I searched the web and came across your foundation. It just seemed like the right fit. I am so glad I decided to do this because seeing the happy faces on those kids when they received their gifts was a truly wonderful feeling. I hope to be able to continue to bring that moment to them many more times.
