BURLINGTON, VT, April 1, 2005 – It’s an ice cream dream come true — eight hours of all the free ice cream you can eat. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, April 19th, 2005 – Ben & Jerry’s 27th annual Free Cone Day!

From noon to 8:00 p.m. (or whenever the ice cream runs out!!), ice cream lovers can enjoy a free cup or cone of their favorite flavor at Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop at the Westchester Mall in White Plains. Not only does Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day make the world’s taste buds jump for joy, but local non-profit organizations benefit as well.

While there is no charge for the scoop of love that Ben & Jerry’s will be dishing out to local residents, Pediatric Cancer Foundation will be on hand accepting donations and discussing their mission.

"We're particularly pleased to be partnering with Pediatric Cancer Foundation this year," said Ken Gellerman. “Our first year in business has been amazing, and they are as energetic and passionate as we are. They do so much for patient treatment, research and acquisition of equipment. And much of their support is for doctors and programs right here in Westchester and the surrounding New York community. It's an honor to scoop side by side with these folks."

To make the event even more special, Westchester radio station WXPK (107.1 THE PEAK) will be supporting this event. Longtime New York disc jockey Jimmy Fink is lending hands-on support from 12-2pm, and station personnel will be on hand with giveaways.

This year’s Free Cone Day is also a perfect time to try one of Ben & Jerry’s new Mood Magic flavors. These indulgent flavors – Chocolate Therapy, In A Crunch, The Last Straw and Appley Ever After – are designed to transport you from your current mood to a state of euphoria, in a matter of spoonfuls.
